Finding it difficult to choose which Hilux variant to buy?
With 22 models to choose from it’s not surprising and the decision has just become a smidge harder with the introduction of the unique to Australia SR Double Cab.
Developed in response to feedback from Australian customers, the SR Double Cab is aimed squarely at the mining and mid-sized trades sectors and comes standard with the familiar 126kW/360Nm D4D diesel and a five-speed auto. Pricing starts at $43,750.
“This new 4×4 HiLux package has been uniquely developed to meet the demands of workers in the harsh and remote conditions experienced in Australia’s mining and exploration industries,” Toyota Australia sales and marketing boss Tony Cramb said.
The 4×4 SR Double Cab diesel auto comes standard with a full set of safety gizmos, including stability and traction control, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution and six air-bags.
The centre dash is dominated by a 6.1-inch display screen with Bluetooth connectivity, and there are steering-wheel controls for audio, multi-information display (MID), telephone and voice recognition.
If you’re a bit of a gun with a gear lever and prefer yours with a manual box, then the five-speed manual double cab-chassis SR is still available from $40,990.
