Owner’s Thoughts

Coming from a V8 ute the main thing that I struggled with at first was the power difference. Once I took it four-wheel driving and out on its first camping trip, I never looked back. The ute has been so much more practical for me than my last one. I use it regularly to access motorbike and mountain bike trails. I take it off road for day trips or weekend camping as often as I can. It’s still perfect for those quick runs down to the shops or to use as a daily work ute.

As a whole the ute is basically all stock besides putting some better all-terrain tyres on it. With time, I will kit the ute out with a bull bar, snorkel, a few extra lights and maybe a suspension lift. However, I use it as my everyday vehicle so need to keep it kinda practical on the road and not be too hard for me to get a motorbike into the back.

All in all, I would definitely recommend the D40 to anyone! It’s a good all round 4×4 that can be set up for the hardcore off-road enthusiasts or for the weekend warrior like myself.
