Adam love’s the shape of the GQ Patrols, so when it came time to build a 4X4 for touring, camping and towing the boat, he chose a GQ.
This particular GQ runs Nissan’s big 4.2-litre petrol six cylinder, which has been kitted out to run on both petrol and LPG. They’re a reliable lump, especially when left unmolested and that’s just how this one runs.
The story is the same for the rest of the drivetrain, with a pair of ARB air-lockers being the only notable modification.
A Lovell’s 2-inch suspension lift has been added and Adam is currently running 33-inch BFG mud terrain tyres.
ARB supplied the front bull bar and the Patrol’s sills are protected by a set of XRO custom sliders. Lighting the track ahead is taken care of by a set of Great White and Narva light bars that compliment the Narva spot lights.
A Redarc dual battery system provides the volts required to keep the lights burning and the Engel fridge cold.
The rest of the Patrol has been set-up to make touring easier, with a rear drawer system boosting storage space, and a roof rack that is home to a Hannibal Roof Top Tent and an ARB side awning.
When he’s not fishing or filming videos for his Nuts About 4WD’s business, Adam hits the tracks with the crew from the 4X4 Adventure Club. If you want to see Adam’s Patrol in action, tune in to Channel 31 or Digital 44 and catch the club’s second season.
